Medicare Supplements- Medicare Advantage – Medicare Part D RX plans
The Parts of Medicare A, B, C, D
Medicare Advantage - Part C
Over 1/2 of Medicare recipients get their care via a Medicare Advantage Plan. Medicare Advantage plans are sold by private insurance companies (Humana/AARP-United Healthcare/Aetna etc) who receive payments from Medicare to cover enrollees. Medicare Advantage monthly premiums are for the most part lower than coverage via Original Medicare with a Medigap and a PartD RX plan would be. Medicare Advantage plan come with a “built-In” RX plan, there’s no need to get a separate RX plan. That’s why they’re referred to as “All In One” plans on some advertisements. Quite often there will be a plan in your area with Zero Premium. Meaning all you pay monthly is your Part B premium! Some companies have also taken to reimbursing enrollees for portions of their Part B premium!
Medicare Advantage plans may also provide Dental coverage, Vision coverage and Acupuncture which Original Medicare cannot. Additionally, most plans also provide access to GYM’s via fitness programs such as www.Silversneakers.com which is a great benefit.
Medicare Advantage plans are often mistakenly referred to as “Gap” plans or “secondary plans” which is not accurate. They do provide a ceiling on annual out-of-pocket expenses, usually at 9700.00. Anything spent on medical care over that will be paid for by the Insurance Company.
(Note, RX costs do not factor into the 97000 amount)

WHY ORIGINAL MEDICARE as my primary insurance company?
Medigap
Medigap plans cover the various”gaps” left after Medicare pays their portion. The Medigap plans are designed by Medicare and are designated by letter (NOT to be confused with Medicare’s Part A, Part B, Part C & Part D) . The same plan F can be sold by many different carriers at different prices. In our opinion the plans are a “commodity.” In that regard it’s wise to purchase the least expensive plan. The Medigap plans don’t designate the network of doctors, Medicare does that. Medigap helps with the payment process. Wallace & Feldman Ins. will help you find and secure that Medigap plan.
